MOSCOW, September 27 (Itar-Tass) — Virtual networking should be a serious instrument for up-to-date medicine and effective training of doctors, according to an international conference on innovation in medicine that will open in Moscow on Thursday.
The first congress of the Russian Society of Simulation Training in Medicine (ROSOMED) is timed to the conference. The congress will involve key international communities such as the Association for Medical Education in Europe and the European Society of Simulation Training in Medicine.
Russian and foreign specialists will exchange experience and take part in seminars.
ROSOMED CEO Alexander Kolysh told Itar-Tass that fourteen training sessions would be held within the congress. Specialists from Russia, Europe, the U.S. and Brazil will help the participants in the congress familiarise themselves with methods of using simulation training in medicine. Plenary sessions will be devoted on the development of simulation medicine and different issues of medical education.
The participants in the conference will discuss a concept of simulation training in Russia, organisational issues, management and the effective activity of simulation centres. Simulation technology and training of doctors guarantee security of patients and should be an important factor of uninterrupted medical education, ROSOMED reported.
The congress is the big step towards making innovation methods popular in Russia, Kolysh said.
ROSOMED was founded a year ago. Much was done to unite specialists dealing with simulation training. In the first half of 2012 at least 43 offices have been opened in different regions.
“Much interesting and intensive work waits for us in the future. A year ago training centres were divided. We can talk about cooperation. Now such problems are resolving and the ideas of simulation training are backed by the medical community and by the state,” Kolysh explained.
