Rosneft chief discusses stronger energy coop with Venezuela

Sechin arrived in Caracas to discuss bilateral energy cooperation

CARACAS, September 26 (Itar-Tass) — The president of Russia’s largest oil company Rosneft, Igor Sechin, has started talks with Venezuela’s Energy Minister Rafael Ramirez, who is also the president of the state-run oil and gas company PDVSA, Rosneft’s official told journalists on Wednesday.

Sechin arrived in Caracas to discuss bilateral energy cooperation.

Later in the day Sechin together with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez will take part in the inauguration ceremony of the first housing complex in Caracas built by the two countries’ specialists.

Sechin will also hold talks with Chavez.

On Thursday he will take part in a ceremony to mark the first production of industrial oil at the Junin oil field.
