MOSCOW, September 26 (Itar-Tass) — Russia’s government is not ready to co-finance the construction of subway lines in regions in 2013, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich told a Federation Council meeting on Wednesday.
“The draft budget for 2013 envisages no resources for this,” he said adding that the government decided to subsidize commuter rail services instead of the subway construction.
Earlier Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev at the meeting with Federation Council senators promised to allocate funds for the construction of subways in regions.
“We decided to allocate funds for commuter rail services in Moscow as well as all over the country,” Dvorkovich said.
