MOSCOW, September 26 (Itar-Tass) — Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said "the report on the resignation of Regional Development Minister Oleg Govorun "rather looks like a canard."
"I know nothing about it /Govorun's resignation/," Peskov told Itar-Tass.
A week ago, the head of state reprimanded three ministers, including Govorun, for insufficient work in implementing presidential decrees. It was planned that Govorun would take part in a conference on Wednesday over preparation of power generation facilities and public utilities for the winter, to be chaired by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
The reports on Govorun's resignation were placed on the Forbes website and cited by a number of Russian mass media outlets.
