LABINSK /Krasnodar Territory/, September 25 (Itar-Tass) — A major investment project finalises in Kuban – Danone-Unimilk puts operational; a new line for production of baby food.
The Krasnodar Territory’s Deputy Governor Eduard Kutygin said the “dairy in Labinsk is now the most modern in Russia, which became possible due to professional reconstruction of the old milk plant.”
The diary, which history goes back to 1935, became a part of Danone-Unimilk Group in 2010. Since then, the holding company has invested over two billion roubles in modernisation of the dairy. The final investment of 160 million roubles in the dairy’s reconstruction was made during the current year having raised the contracted amount. Thus, the investments made a total of 2.2 billion roubles.
“The additional investments were made for raising quality of baby food,” Danone-Unimilk’s Managing Director Sergei Builov said.
Presently, the dairy produces several products, which brands are well-known throughout Russia. The plant is modernised fully. The new packing line will produce up to 10 tonnes a day of premium baby food made of the highest quality milk to satisfy the demand not only in Kuban, but in the entire country.
The big investment project in Kuban was supported fully by local authorities. Labinsk’s Mayor Alexander Sadchikov told Itar-Tass that “specialists and all residents welcome the fact that Russia’s major dairy company Danone-Unimilk has chosen Labinsk as a priority location for its investments.”
Danone-Unimilk unites over 15,000 employees, almost 30 dairies and major investments in development of the agricultural sector. In 2011, the company’s share in Russia made 22 percent, and its investments were 1.5 billion dollars. The group is a part of Danone international company, which employs over 100,000 specialists. Danone has 184 production centres in 120 countries worldwide and is a leader in production of dairy products, bottled water, baby and clinical food.
