MOSCOW, September 25 (Itar-Tass) —— Truck traffic along Moscow’s outer circular road will be banned in the daytime from February 1, 2013, head of the city transportation department Maxim Liksutov told journalists on Monday.

According to Liksuton, heavy-duty trucks with the carrying capacity of more than 12 tons will be banned to appear in the Moscow outer circular road in the daytime to ease traffic, since each of such vehicles is compatible to four to five motor cars.

“Ecology, traffic safety – all these problems will be solved and it is very important,” he stressed. In his words, the authorities will soon begin installing road signs warning of the ban.
