MOSCOW, September 24 (Itar-Tass) —— The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow issued an arrest warrant for Alexander Maksimov, who ran down seven people to death at the bus stop in western Moscow.
Thus, an appeal of the investigators was satisfied, a source in the Moscow police told Itar-Tass on Monday.
According to the preliminary reports of the medics, 1.55 pro mille of alcohol was found in the blood of the driver at the moment of the road accident. In 2010 Maksimov was already stripped of driving license for drunk driving.
The criminal case was opened over the road accident under Article 264 of the Criminal Code for violation of the traffic rules that entailed death of two and more people by a drunken offender. The maximum punishment under this criminal article is up to nine years in prison.
