MOSCOW, September 24 (Itar-Tass) —— The Mozhaisk District Court sentenced former head of the settlement Borodinskoye Maya Sklyueva to five years in prison under the criminal case over the illegal land allotment for countryside houses on the Borodino Field. She was found guilty of office abuse and fraud with the abuse of her powers.
The court found her guilty on four charges and also sentenced her to a fine of 500,000 roubles.
Meanwhile, Sklyueva did not plead guilty, claiming that she acted according to the law. However, the court found her guilt fully proved by the evidence, which the detectives had gathered.
The mother and husband of Sklyueva that were also the defendants in the criminal case were sentenced to one and two years in prison on suspension, respectively. Realtor Alexander Gritskevich was sentenced to three years in prison on suspension and a fine of 300,000 roubles.
The lawyer of the former official stated after the pronouncement of the guilty verdict that the defence will appeal against the court verdict.
The detectives found that Sklyueva had forged the property registration certificates on four land plots, registering these land plots for her close relatives: mother – Raisa Gavva and husband – Sergei Sklyuev. They were also charged with fraud. Realtor Gritskevich became the fourth defendant in the criminal case.
The detectives found that the four land plots at Staroye Selo (Old Village) at the cost of more than ten million roubles were misappropriated as a result of Sklyueva’s criminal actions. Meanwhile, the head of the settlement decided illegally to change the mode of using ten land plots that resulted in 38 hectares of land to be used for the construction of countryside houses.
“But for the timely interference and a tough response of the Investigation Committee, the whole Borodino Field would have turned in the asphalted roads and parkings in 2-3 years, probably five years,” a source in the Investigation Committee said.
To prove the illegal allotment of the land plots the detectives have inspected more than 100 property registration records, where the data about the residents in the Mozhaisk district that owned the land plots had been put for many years. The fact of putting people, who allegedly possessed the land plots in 1993, was found as a result.
“A cryptologic expertise proved the defendant falsified the signatures of the head of the Borodino rural council in the property registration certificates on the foresaid land plots. Along with these offences, during the investigation the detectives exposed more than 100 similar cases of land misappropriation. The investigation into these cases was singled out in separate criminal proceedings and will be continued regardless the Monday court verdict,” the source said.
