MAKHACHKALA, September 23 (Itar-Tass) — Four suspected militants were shot dead when offering resistance to police in Dagestan’s Khasavyurt on Sunday, the North Caucasus republic’s investigative department told Itar-Tass.
“At around 21:40 Moscow time a VAZ-2114 car opened fire on a group of policemen ignoring the request to stop. Four militants inside the car were killed in a return fire,” the source said.
Policemen got no wounds.
An investigation is underway.
Those killed are being identified.
