MOSCOW, September 23 (Itar-Tass) — The Nizhnevartovsk electric power plant was shut down over malfunction, Russia’s Emergencies Ministry told Itar-Tass on Sunday.

“At 14:41 Moscow time the information about the shutdown of the Nizhnevartovsk power plant in the village of Izluchinsk was received,” the ministry said. “The plant’s two turbines were shut down.”

Within two minutes the electric power supply was in an automatic mode transferred to Surgut’s electric power plants GRES-1 and GRES-2.

“The turbines’ shutdown did not affect consumers’ power supply. The turbines will be restarted at 10:00 Moscow time,” the source said.

No injuries were reported.
