Eight crew managed to evacuate on two life rafts

MOSCOW, September 23 (Itar-Tass) — In the Sea of Okhotsk, four miles from western shores of Kamchatka, The West transport refrigerator overturned on Sunday.

Eight crew managed to evacuate on two life rafts, and the MRS-046 fishing boat started from Oktyabrsky port to assist them, the Far East rescuers report.

The West refrigerator with the load of 49 tonnes headed to Manily settlement. The accident occurred at 12:30 Moscow time, its reasons are not clear now. The wind speed in the region is eleven metres per second, and the waves are up to a metre and a half high.

Earlier Russia’s EMERCOM told Itar-Tass "two fishing boats are going to the scene. A Mi-8 helicopter is ready to take off."
