Criminal case opened over murder of dep district adm head

MOSCOW, September 22 (Itar-Tass) —— A criminal case is opened over the murder of deputy head of the Chekhov district administration Viktor Fedosov, a source at the Russian Investigative Committee's department for the Moscow Region told Itar-Tass on Saturday.

The case is opened on charges of inflicting injuries that cause death and robbery committed by a group. Investigation work is underway, spokeswoman Irina Gumennaya said.

The deputy administration head was murdered on Friday night, September 21. Some masked persons broke into the official's private house in the village of Solnyshkovo, beat him up and robbed him. The man died of the injuries.

Fedosov was in charge of land use in the Chekhov district.
