Russia’s govt may impose grain export embargo depending on prices

This issue is linked with the current dynamics of prices on the domestic market

SOCHI, September 21 (Itar-Tass) —— The Russian government may impose an embargo on grain export, depending on the price dynamics, Economic Development Minister Andrei Belousov told reporters on Friday on the sidelines of the Sochi forum.

“This issue is linked with the current dynamics of prices on the domestic market. And, it is rather realistic that the government will make a decision to ban grain export,” he said.

According to the minister, “the government must protect the domestic market. We cannot allow the hike of prices for grain, food and meat in the next year.”
