MOSCOW, September 21 (Itar-Tass) — The Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations has sent a second plane with humanitarian aid to Syria, a source from the ministry’s information department told Tass on Friday.
“An Il-76 aircraft of the emergencies ministry took off from Ramenskoye airfield outside Moscow for Damascus at 3:30 am, Moscow time. It carries sugar, canned fish and meat as well as baby food,” the source said. The total weight of Russia’s humanitarian aid is 38 tons.
Humanitarian aid to Syria is rendered by government orders. The first batch of 38 tons of humanitarian aid was airlifted to Damascus on Thursday.
