BISHKEK, September 20 (Itar-Tass) — Russia is prepared to look into the problem of creating a civilian transport infrastructure at Manas airport near Bishkek to service air transportation of cargoes from Asia to Europe both ways, an official statement adopted as a result of an official visit paid by President Putin to Kyrgyzstan says.
The Russian side supports Kyrgyzstan's plans to transform the center for transit transportations at Manas airport into a civilian facility free of a military component upon completion of the mission of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and it has expressed readiness to look into the problem of creating a civilian transport infrastructure at Manas airport to service air transportation of cargoes from Asia to Europe both ways, the document said.
The document also confirmed that Russia and Kyrgyzstan intend to strengthen cooperation in the military and military- technical fields.
The Russian side represented by the Rosatom State Corporation will continue assistance to the Kyrgyz side in the re-cultivation of territories of EurAsEC countries which were affected by the uranium production industries.
In the international arena, Moscow and Bishkek will press ahead for creation of a system of equal and indivisible security in the EurAtlantic and EurAsian space and will promote initiatives on the reform of the OSCE.
The Russian side is intent on active support to the process of Kyrgyzstan's joining the Customs Union and the single economic space, to which Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus belong now , on a fully-fledged, equal basis, the document said.
Russia is also prepared to render assistance to Kyrgyzstan in exercising rotating chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in 2012-2013.
The presidents of Russia and Kyrgyzstan voiced support to international efforts for settlement in Afghanistan and came out for intensification of interaction to make Afghanistan a stable, independent, peaceful and prosperous state with a stable economy, free of terrorism and drug-related crime.
