VLADIVOSTOK, September 18 (Itar-Tass) —— Typhoon Sanba has brought a monthly norm of rainfall in Russia’s Far Eastern city of Vladivostok in a day, the local meteorological service said on Tuesday.
According to meteorologists, as many as 107 millimeters of rain fell out in Vladivostok over the past 24 hours, including 87 millimeters overnight, with a montly norm of 132 millimeters.
The Primorsky Territory emergencies administration said that no emergency situations were registered by the morning on September 18. Water levels in the local rivers are within the norm, no floods were reported.
Meanwhile, motor traffic has been suspended in the Lazovsky district where water flooded local motor ways.
Some lower sections of motor ways have been flooded in Vladivostok and 25 household – in its suburb.
According to weather forecasts, rains will continue through Tuesday but not that heavy as a day before. Water levels in local rivers are expected to rise by 1.5 to two meters, and by up to four meter in the basin of the river Razdolnaya, which may flood farm lands, motor roads and low-rise bridges.
The typhoon is expected to leave the Primorsky Territory on September 19.
