Patriarch Kirill arrives in Vladivostok after visit to Japan

The Patriarch will consecrate the lower church of the Kazan Cathedral in Nakhodka

VLADIVOSTOK, September 18 (Itar-Tass) —— Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill arrived on Tuesday to the Russian Far Eastern city of Vladivostok after his visit to Japan. The Patriarch will visit the Primorsky archdiocese on September 18 through September 21, a spokesman for the Vladivostok eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church said.

The official program of the Patriarch’s visit will start on September 19, according to the press service of the Patriarch. On that day, Patriarch Kirill will visit Vladivostok’s Intercession Cathedral. Later in the day, the Patriarch will consecrate the lower church of the Kazan Cathedral in Nakhodka.

The visit will end on September 21, the church holiday of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Patriarch will conduct a divine service on Vladivostok’s central square near the construction site of the Church of the Transfiguration of Christ.
