Seven missing teenagers found in woods of Leningrad region

The department said the teenagers were lost close to the administrative border of the Leningrad and Novgorod regions

ST. PETERSBURG, September 16 (Itar-Tass) —— Seven teenagers who lost their way in the woods of the Leningrad region are found; their condition is satisfactory, the Novgorod regional emergency situations department told Itar-Tass.

The department said the teenagers were lost close to the administrative border of the Leningrad and Novgorod regions.

Rescuers were informed at 11:55 p.m. Moscow time on Saturday that seven minors, aged from 13 to 17, were missing in a forest near Vasilkovo, Kirishi district of the Leningard region. All of them lived in Chudovo, Novgorod region, and came to the Leningrad region to take part in a tourist gathering.

The police, rescuers of both regions and local residents searched for the missing. A helicopter of the emergency situations department of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region traced the teenagers at 10:50 a.m. Moscow time and brought them to the Kirishi district police station.
