Two South Korean destroyers to visit Pacific Fleet base in Vladivostok

They will stay in the city until September 18

VLADIVOSTOK, September 16 (Itar-Tass) – Two destroyers of the Republic of Korea Navy will call at the Pacific Fleet base in Vladivostok for a business visit on Sunday.

The Korean warships will be met at Korabelnaya embankment in Vladivostok. They will stay in the city until September 18. The Varyag guided missile destroyer will play the role of a host, the Russian Pacific Fleet press service reports.

September will be a busy month for the Russian Pacific Fleet. Vladivostok will play host to the Vandegrift guided missile destroyer of the U.S. Navy on September 19-22. Japanese sailors will call at the Pacific Fleet base on September 23 for holding joint anti-pirate exercises.

A delegation of military attaches will visit Vladivostok and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on September 18-21. They will meet Pacific Fleet commanders, visit the Varyag missile cruiser and go on an excursion to a separate brigade of the Marine Corps of the Pacific Fleet.

A delegation of military attaches will visit the commander of the group of troops and forces in northeastern Russia and see places of interest in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
