BOCHAROV RUCHEI, Sochi, September 15 (Itar-Tass) —— Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko intends to inform Russian President Vladimir Putin about the situation on the common external border, which he believes is “unfavourable”.
“I would like to inform you about our situation and the situation on our common border. Unfortunately, it is not so good in terms of migration,” Lukashenko said at the talks with Putin on Saturday, September 15.
Lukashenko said he meant “migration to the West through us”.
“There is a very big upsurge and we will have to understand why it happened,” he added.
“As for the economy, you are right, the situation is normal; positive integration processes are under way; and trade turnover is growing,” Lukashenko said.
“There are 50 countries waiting to enter into trade and economic cooperation with us, with the common economic space. This speaks for itself. We will talk about this as well as about what is happening in the CSTO [Collective Security Treaty Organisation] and the Union State,” he said.
The Belarusian leader also stressed that there are “issues that need to be discussed and solved. I think we will be able to get together and make decisions shortly at the Supreme State Council if we agree to the date”.
