MOSCOW, September 15 (Itar-Tass) —— At least 11,000 people are marching in central Moscow, the press service of the Moscow police department said.
The statement of Udaltsov (Left Front coordinator) that 100,000 are participating in the march is not true. It is unclear who taught him to count, a police official said. The number has increased as compared to the beginning, but the participants number about 11,000 now, the source said.
There were no difficulties to pass through the metal detector frames. All who wished to participate in the event went through the frames without problems and joined the march, police said.
Earlier police said that up to 5,000 people gathered at Pushkinskaya Square and nearby areas by 14:00 Moscow time.
The situation is calm on the whole. There have been no incidents. However, police noticed masked people in the crowd. In this connection, Moscow police officially ask the organizers to ensure that public order is kept and prevent violations of the law.
The columns are approaching Sakharov Avenue, where a rally will be held.
