Traffic to be limited in central Moscow due to March of Millions

A rally with the declared number of 25 thousand participants will be held in the outer side of Sakharov Avenue

MOSCOW, September 15 (Itar-Tass) — Traffic will be limited in central Moscow on Saturday because of the March of Millions opposition action. The municipal transport movement will also be restricted, the press service of the Moscow traffic police told Itar-Tass.

“On September 15 in connection with a number of processions and rallies in Moscow, the movement of transport, including public will be limited in the city’s central part. The restrictions will be introduced from 01:00 MSK until the end of events – in Sakharov Avenue, in a section of ··Sadovaya-Spasskaya Street up to Kalanchevskaya Street, and in the period from 11:00 to 16:00 – in Strastnoi, Petrovsky, Rozhdestvensky and Sretensky Boulevards, in Bolshoi Putinkovsky Lane, as well as on Sakharov Avenue at the section from Turgenev Square to Sadovaya-Spasskaya Street,” the traffic police said.

Head of the Moscow regional security department Alexei Mayorov told Itar-Tass earlier that the mayor’s office has authorises the procession from the Pushkinsky cinema along the Boulevard Ring road to Sakharov Avenue. A rally with the declared number of 25 thousand participants will be held in the outer side of Sakharov Avenue.

In addition, on September 16 motor traffic, including public transport movement restrictions will be introduced in connection with mass sports events in the city in the period from 17:00 until the end of the events in Khamovnichesky Val Street and Luzhnetskaya and Frunze Embankments.
