Gudkov intends to appeal his stripping of mandate in Supreme Court

He also pledged to lobby the bills, which he had already moved in, through his party partisans

MOSCOW, September 14 (Itar-Tass) — Next Monday A Just Russia member Gennady Gudkov intends to appeal against the decision, which the State Duma had taken on Friday to strip him of a deputy mandate.

“The appeal will be lodged with the Supreme Court” on Monday, the politician confirmed. He also pledged to lobby the bills, which he had already moved in, through his party partisans.

In reply to a question whether he can become an aide of his son, State Duma deputy Dmitry Gudkov, Gennady Gudkov responded that he “can work even as an aide to (A Just Russia leader) Sergei Mironov.”

On Friday, the State Duma voted for the termination of the deputy powers of deputy chairman of A Just Russia faction Gennady Gudkov as of September 14. The Investigation Committee found Gudkov involved in business activities, which are incompatible with the status of a deputy. In total 291 deputies voted for this decision, 150 deputies voted against it and three deputies abstained on Friday. The voting was held in an open regime.

Gudkov stated earlier that he will appeal the decision over his stripping of a deputy mandate in court. “I will not resist a pleasure to make our authorities go to various courts. Because at first they will be summoned to our court and later to the European court,” he told journalists before the State Duma voted for the termination of his deputy powers.
