PETROPOAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, September 14 (Itar-Tass) —— Cockpit voice and flight data recorders from the small An-28 passenger plane that crashed in Kamchatka two days ago have been removed from the fuselage and handed over to a panel of inquiry of the Interstate Aviation Commission, which is probing into the causes of the disaster, an aide to the chief of the Far Eastern transport investigation department of the Investigative Committee, Vladimir Kononov, said on Friday.

The An-28 plane belonging to a local airline left Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on September 12 with fourteen people on board – twelve passengers and two crew members. Two of the passengers were children. The plane flew into a mountain ten kilometers away from the destination airport. Ten people, including the pilots and a four-year-old girl died instantly.

The four survivors – two men, one woman and a 13-year-old boy were at the tail of the plane. At the moment of the impact they were literally ejected from their seats. All of them are in grave or extremely grave condition. Doctors fear the teenage boy’s life is in danger. He suffered an open skull injury and is in coma.
