SOFIA, September 14 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia and Bulgaria will remain friends despite the increase to one billion euros in the lawsuit the Russian contractor Atomstroiexport had filed to the national electric company of Bulgaria for its decision to drop the Belene nuclear power plant project, Prime Minister Boiko Borisov said on Thursday.

“Russia as a state, the Russian people and Bulgaria have been friends for centuries, and they will always be. But once the Atomstroiexport company has filed a lawsuit of one billion euros, we shall go to court,” Borisov said, adding that there was no reason for questioning friendly relations with Russia. “We are Orthodox, Christian peoples, and in our history we have always supported each other.”
