SOCHI, September 13 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that god believers could start defending their interests on their own if the state doesn’t act firmly to attempts to insult religious feelings.
“We should be particularly gentle and attentive to the religious feelings of god believers and people belonging to various religious confessions, including the followers of Islam, Christians and others,” President Putin said.
“If the state fails to react firmly and promptly to provocations targeted against religious sentiment, the people who have been hurt, insulted and humiliated start defending their interests themselves. Sometimes, they use unacceptable means, and their actions assume totally unacceptable forms,” Putin warned.
