Russian European champion in Greco-Roman wrestling Artyukhin dies

He died of a heart failure

MOSCOW, September 13 (Itar-Tass) —— The European champion in 2005, the bronze medallist of the 2006 World Championship of Greco-Roman Wrestling Sergei Artyukhin died at the age of 36 years. He died of a heart failure, a source in the Russian Sport Wrestling Federation told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

At first Artyukhin performed for the Russian wrestling national team, then for Belarus. He ended his sport career three years ago.

Sergei is brother of a famous ice hockey player, forward of SKA St. Petersburg and the Russian ice hockey national team Yevgeny Artyukhin and son of the late famous wrestler and world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling Yevgeny Artyukhin.
