MOSCOW, September 13 (Itar-Tass) —— The Council of the Russian State Duma lower parliament house on Thursday ruled to include the so-called Gudkov case into the agenda of a plenary meeting on Friday, September 14, a source in the lower parliament house told Itar-Tass of Thursday. Gudkov, a lawmaker with the A Just Russia party, may be stripped off his deputy immunity after investigators exposed that he engaged in business activity which is banned for state servants.
On September 10, a State Duma commission for control over the authenticity of income and property data entered by deputies recommended to consider the possibility of depriving Gudkov, who is the deputy head of the A Just Russia faction, of his deputy mandate.
The majority of the commission’s members voted for the proposal, thus considering as valid the information of the Russian Investigations Committee that Gudkov had violated his status of deputy which bans parliamentarians from being engaged in commercial activities.
