Moscow urban district of Troitsk gets Science Town status

Priority areas of development for Troitsk are the industry of nano systems, information and telecommunications systems, life sciences, promising types of weapons

MOSCOW, September 10 (Itar-Tass) — Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed a decree granting the status of a Science Town to Moscow’s urban district of Troitsk for a term of five years.

The decree published on the government website on Monday sets the guidelines for the Science Town’s activities: science, technologies, innovations, experimental developments, tests and personnel training. Priority areas of development for Troitsk are the industry of nano systems, information and telecommunications systems, life sciences, promising types of weapons, military hardware, rational use of natural resources, transportation and space systems, energy efficiency, energy saving and nuclear energy.
