BOLSHIYE VYAZMY, Moscow region, September 9 (Itar-Tass) —— The Moscow region will assign over 1 billion rubles for the development of museums within the next five years, Moscow Regional Governor Sergei Shoigu told members of the Museum Parliament Council and directors of the leading regional museums on Sunday. The meeting was dedicated to the preservation of cultural legacy and the development of regional museums.
“We will invest over one billion rubles in museums within the next five years. The use of these funds will depend on you,” he said.
It is time to shift from restoration of cultural monuments to new projects, the governor said. “We pin big hopes on your activity, your projects,” he told museum workers.
