Hu Jintao reiterates China’s position on disputed Diaoyu Islands

China considers these territories as its “inseparable part”

VLADIVOSTOK, September 9 (Itar-Tass) — China’s President Ju Jintao has reiterated his country’s position on the disputed Diaoyu/Senkaku Islands. At a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda on Sunday, the Chinese leader said that China considers these territories as its “inseparable part,” a source in the Chinese delegation said.

The two leaders had a 15-minute conversation on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Russia’s Far Eastern city of Vladivostok. According to Japanese diplomats, they “exchanged views on the current state of the Japanese-Chinese relations.”
