VLADIVOSTOK, September 9 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Vladimir Putin has pledged to continue efforts to promote the development of Russia’s Far Eastern region.
“We shall continue to develop the Far East based on cooperation and partnership with Asia Pacific countries,” Putin said at a news conference after the APEC summit in Vladivostok.
He thanked Vladivostok residents for their assistance in the organization and holding of the APEC forum. “It is our common success,” he said.
The summit was held at the new premises of the Far Eastern Federal University that have been recently built on Vladivostok’s Island Russky.
