VLADIVOSTOK, September 9 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian President Vladimir Putin began the APEC working meeting on Sunday with congratulation of Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on his birthday.
"It is not accidental that you mark the day in Russia," Puitn said. The Russian leader wished the Indonesian president successes.
Indonesia takes over the APEC presidency from Russia in 2013.
The main topics on the agenda of the working meeting are formation of reliable transport and logistics systems and cooperation for innovation growth. The APEC leaders have also discussed trade and investment liberalization, regional economic integration and food security strengthening.
The summit is expected to result in a declaration of leaders of APEC economies. The document will reflect their joint approaches to the development of APEC cooperation in the priority areas.
Additional documents to the declaration will emphasize the importance of ensuring innovation growth, energy security, trans-border cooperation in the area of higher education and counteraction against corruption.
