Hospital roof collapsed in a city in Russia’s Krasnodar territory

Most people managed to leave the building on their own. Rescuers have pulled out one victim from under the rubble

ROSTOV-ON-DON, southern Russia, September 8 (Itar-Tass) — A roof of nutrition department of the central district hospital in the city of Slavyansk-na-Kubani (Slavyansk–on-Kuban) collapsed at 16:50 Moscow time on Saturday, the press service of the Southern regional center of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations reports.

A duty officer received an alarm call at 16:55 local time on Saturday.

Most people managed to leave the building on their own. Rescuers have pulled out one victim from under the rubble, the Ministry went on to say.

The hospital’s food unit stands away from the main hospital building. The total collapse area is 70 square meters. Three people were trapped under the rubble after the roof had collapsed.

“At 17:40 rescuers pulled out one person from under the rubble. Another two people can still remain under the rubble,” the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations clarified.
