Moldovan premier to visit RF Sept 10-12

The visit is timed to opening Days of Moldovan Culture in Russia

MOSCOW, September 5 (Itar-Tass) — Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat will make a working visit to Moscow on September 10-12 at the invitation of his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev, the government press service reported on Wednesday.

The visit is timed to opening Days of Moldovan Culture in Russia, the press service said.

On September 11, Filat will have talks with Medvedev “on a wide range of Russian-Moldovan relations”. Special attention will be paid “to the expansion of mutually advantageous cooperation in the trade, economic, scientific, technical, cultural, humanitarian and other fields”. Several documents are planning to be signed, the Russian government’s press service said.

On September 12, the Moldovan prime minister will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi, the Kremlin press service said.

Putin and Filat will discuss “key issues of Russian-Moldovan cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as interaction within the CIS. They will also exchange views on the Transdniester settlement”, the press service said.

Trade and economic cooperation is the priority task in interstate relations, the Kremlin said. Russia remains one of the leading partners of Moldova. A total of 22 percent of Moldova’s external trade accounts on Russia.

Cultural and humanitarian relations are also one of the key components of Russian-Moldovan cooperation. Days of Moldovan Culture will take place in Moscow and St Petersburg on September 10-15. Days of Russian Culture in Moldova were held successfully in September 2011.
