NAZRAN, September 5 (Itar-Tass) — Five policemen were killed and one policeman was injured in an attack of gunmen in Ingushetia, a source in the republican law enforcement agencies told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

“The death toll of the attack on the military convoy near Datykh in the Sunzha district reached five policemen, as one of policemen injured in the shootout died on the way to the hospital. Four policemen from the police patrol service of the republican Interior Ministry died instantaneously,” the source said.

According to the press centre of the Russian Interior Ministry, the attack was delivered at about 13:00-13:20 Moscow time. “At first the bomb was detonated under the Ural truck, then the gunmen opened automatic fire at the military convoy. Some casualties and injured policemen were reported. The casualty reports are being specified,” the press centre reported.

The attackers are being searched for.

The top brass of the republican Interior Ministry and the team of detectives rushed to the incident site.
