MOSCOW, September 5 (Itar-Tass) — The State Duma Committee for supervision over the verification of the information about incomes and property of deputies launched an inquiry into the materials, which Russian Investigation Committee (SK) gathered over the participation of deputy head of the A Just Russia faction Gennady Gudkov in commercial activities.
“To check the observance (by deputy Gennady Gudkov) of the restrictions and the bans, which are envisaged under the federal law on the status of a senator of the Federation Council and a deputy of the State Duma,” the committee said in its decision, which was approved in a majority of votes.
The committee is to hold its next meeting on September 10.
Meanwhile, Gudkov and his colleague in the faction Tatiana Moskalkova asked to note whether it means that the inquiry will have been finalized by September 10. “We are going to decide (by September 10) whether to end or not to end it (the inquiry),” chairman of the committee from United Russia Vladimir Vasilyev said.
Gudkov, representatives of the Investigation Committee and the Prosecutor General’s Office will be invited for a meeting again, he said.
For her part, Moskalkova offered to conduct an inquiry timely before November 5, but request for additional materials from the investigation bodies. Her colleagues in the committee did not support her idea.
Gudkov does not find the deadline for the inquiry until September 10 as “a formal and senseless act”. “If it ends on Monday, it is just formal,” he said with confidence.
