MOSCOW, September 5 (Itar-Tass) — The opposition on Wednesday submitted another application for the March of Millions action it intends to stage on September 15, one of the organisers of the action Pyotr Tsarkov told Itar-Tass. “Instead of Sergei Davidis, member of the Federal Political Council of the Solidarity movement Denis Bilunov has now become the applicant,” Tsarkov said. “The application is identical to the first one – for a procession on September 15 from Tverskaya Zastava Street to Borovitskaya Square with holding a rally there,” Tsarkov added.
On Tuesday, the Moscow mayor’s office rejected the opposition’s application for the March of Millions, referring to the fact that the “application is not in conformity with law.” Left Front coordinator Sergei Udaltsov explained that the refusal was motivated by the fact that one of the applicants - Sergei Davidis allegedly had two administrative offenses during one year because of which he cannot be an organiser of public events.
The opposition members expect to get the authorities’ answer to their second application within three workdays.
