MOSCOW, September 2 (Itar-Tass) —— A RusLine plane is flying to Croatia from Krasnodar to transport home 45 clients of the bankrupt Cherry Tur tour operator, head of the Rosturpomoshch association of tour operators Eduard Kuznetsov told Itar-Tass.
“A RusLine jet has just departed from Krasnodar to bring home the tourists. There are 45 Krasnodar tourists left in Croatia. They are supposed to leave the Pula Airport at 8:30 p.m. local time (10:30 p.m. Moscow time). The arrival is due early in the morning on September 3,” he said.
Saravia flight 6W2934 carrying clients of the bankrupt Cherry Tur tour operator departed from Pula to Rostov-on-Don at 4:10 p.m. local time (6:10 p.m. Moscow time) on Sunday. The aircraft took aboard 116 Russian tourists.
About 90 Cherry Tur clients passed border control at the Pula Airport the day before but it appeared there was no plane waiting for them. Tourists were asked to leave the airport after they had waited for several hours – the airport was closing for the night. Russian Union of Travel Industry (RUTI) press secretary Irina Tyurina said the tourists were not offered food or accommodation.
