SK does not confirm reports that missing official's body has been found

The investigators ordered a DNA test which will provide the answer

MOSCOW, August 31 (Itar-Tass) — The Investigative Committee said the mass media reports that the body of the missing Ramenki district head, Alexander Dmitriyev, has been found are "premature."

SK spokesman Vladimir Markin confirmed that the body of a man had been found in a wooded area near the Minsk highway on August 15.

"Police were unable to ascertain his identity. The investigators ordered a DNA test which will provide the answer. The test is crucial for identification," Markin said.

Dmitriyev, 48, drove his Toyota Land Cruiser to work in the morning of July 16 from the Resurs-1 gardening cooperative near the village of Rassudovo. He never turned up at his office and his mobile phone did not answer.

His car was found near a railway crossing in Rassudovo on the same day. It was locked and his driving license was in the car.

Criminal proceedings were opened over murder. A day later, Moscow police announced a one-million-rouble reward for the information about the missing official.
