Rosturism sends an official letter to Egyptian Ministry of Tourism

At present, 214 El-Voyage tourists are stranded in Hurghada

MOSCOW, August 30 (Itar-Tass) — The Russian Federal Agency for Tourism (Rosturism) sent an official letter to the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism on Thursday requesting it for assistance in returning Russian tourist back home after the El-Voyage tour operator had announced suspension of its operations, the press service of the Russian Federal Agency for Tourism reported on Thursday.

“The Federal Agency for Tourism received a letter from the director-general of the El-Voyage company with a request to help return tourists from Hurghada (Egypt) in connection with the fact that the tour operator failed to pay the Kolavia air company for the flight on time,” the Federal Agency for Tourism clarified.

At present, 214 El-Voyage tourists are stranded in Hurghada. They have to vacate their hotel rooms but they are unable to fly back to Russia.

The Federal Agency for Tourism has called an emergency meeting that will work out a mechanism for returning the tourists to Russia.
