VIENNA, August 30 (Itar-Tass) – Iran may be getting ready for a considerable expansion of its uranium enrichment capability at a nuclear center located at Fordow near the city of Qom, says an expert report on the Iranian nuclear program that the International Atomic Energy Agency /IAEA/ released here Thursday.
The report says Iran has produced 189 kilograms of highly enriched uranium since 2010. In May 2012, it was believed to have 145 kilograms at its disposal.
In addition, the report says that the number of enrichment centrifuges at Fordow has more than doubled since May and stands at 2,140 at present.
IAEA states the absence of any convincing results at the talks on Iran’s nuclear program this year and says the major contradictions remain outstanding.
