MOSCOW, August 30 (Itar-Tass) — Tatarstan is investigating the murder of two women, in the flat of which the inscription “Free Pussy Riot” was left, a source in the Russian Investigation Committee told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
“A 76-year-old pensioner and her 38-year-old daughter were found dead with the traces of violent death in the flat of the apartment block in Kazan on August 29. The inscription presumably made by blood was found on the wall in the flat,” the source said.
Presumably the crime was committed in the period from August 24 to 26. The death came as a result of numerous knife wounds.
The women lived together, the family was taken as good.
It is not ruled out that leaving this inscription, the criminal probably was seeking to mislead the detectives, aide to the chief of the republican investigation department of the Russian Investigation Committee Andrei Sheptitsky said.
“The flat was in disorder. We assume that this was a drug addict or a person was just seeking to take a false criminal connection,” he said in an interview with the Russian News Service radio station on Thursday.
The criminal case was opened under Article 105 Part 3 point a for murder of two and more people.
The lawyers of the convicted Pussy Riot members rejected strongly the theory of a double murder with the Pussy Riot supporters involved. “We have been speaking with the Pussy Riot supporters and there were some indignant people but not so,” lawyer Violetta Volkova told Itar-Tass. This crime could have been committed only by mentally disabled people, which “in any case should be searched for and should be punished for this crime.”
