Storm warning issued for Krasnodar Territory

All towns and holiday camps have been evacuated

KRASNODAR, August 29 (Itar-Tass) — A storm warning has issued for Krasnodar Territory, head of the Krasnodar Territory Hydrometeorological Centre Yuri Tkachenko told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

All services have been put on high alert. Necessary equipment is ready to inform the population about the evacuation. Provisional headquarters have been deployed in 39 municipalities, Tkachenko said.

The storm can affect the towns of Temryuk, Slavyansk, Krymsk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk and the village of Kalinin, as well as the cities of Novorossiisk and Gelendzhik, and the Azov seaside.

Rainfalls are expected in the Tuapse district and in Sochi. The situation aggravates by windspouts.

The ban has been issued for ships to go to sea and for tourists to rest under the open sky. All towns and holiday camps have been evacuated.

“Temporary inconveniences are better than lost in life,” Kuban deputy governor Dzhambulat Khatuov stressed.
