MOSCOW, August 27 (Itar-Tass) — There are 83 persons left on list of candidates to the presidential Human Rights Council, it said after a meeting of its working group on Monday, August 27.
The working group considered applications for compliance with formal requirements. Council Chairman Mikhail Fedotov said earlier that 187 applications had been submitted.
Web consultations on the candidates will start on the Council’s website on September 1.
Fedotov will present the final list of candidates to President Vladimir Putin who is to make the final decision.
