MOSCOW, August 26 (Itar-Tass) — The reason of the death of two miners in a mine under construction in Yakutia was an explosion of the methane-air mixture, Republic of Sakha’s investigative department said on Sunday.
The investigative committee’s press release reads that according to the early information “on August 26, 2012, in Alrosa’s mine under construction at depth of 365 meters an explosion of methane-air mixture happened, which killed two people.”
During the accident, there were 17 people in the mine, and four of them having injuries were taken to hospital. The others were not injured and did not require medical aid.
The investigators continue checking to establish all circumstances of the accident.
