S Ossetia celebrates 4th anniversary of independence recognition

The parliament’s Chairman Stanislav Koriyev greeted the nation on the holiday

TSKHINVAL, August 26 (Itar-Tass) — On Sunday, South Ossetia celebrates the fourth anniversary of the republic’s recognition by Russia.

The parliament’s Chairman Stanislav Koriyev greeted the nation on the holiday.

“This day will be in history of unbroken spirit … of the heroic nation as a symbol of inviolable trust in victory for the just case,” the address reads.

Presently, “the republic is on a new stage of its formation and development,” he said. “We are facing the necessity of a complex settlement of the complicated and responsible tasks we are facing…, in the name of full recognition of our Republic’s solvency as an independent sovereign country.”

August 26, the Day of recognition of the Republic of South Ossetia’s independence, is included in the calendar of holidays and memorial days and is announced a state holiday and a day off.
