MOSCOW, August 26 (Itar-Tass) — One policeman died and three were wounded in a shootout in Dagestan, a source at the Interior Ministry press service told Itar-Tass.
Unidentified gunmen opened fire at two police patrol cars at the Privokzalnaya Street in Khasavyurt at 22:30 Moscow time on Saturday. The police patrols had an aim to check information on suspicious persons in the aforesaid neighborhood.
“One policeman died in the shootout. Another three, one in grave condition, were taken to hospital with wounds.
The policemen returned fire. Police has sealed off the skirmish area. A search for the attackers is under way.
