MOSCOW, August 25 (Itar-Tass) – Russia’s Ministry for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense /EMERCOM/ has dispatched a Be-200 multipurpose amphibious aircraft to Serbia to help put out the campfires raging there.
The aircraft left for the mission Saturday morning, an EMERCOM spokesman said.
Russia is giving assistance to Serbia in firefighting efforts as part of a program of activities of the Russian-Serb humanitarian center.
“One more Russian aircraft, a Ka-32 helicopter, is engaged in the firefighting efforts in Serbia at the moment,” the spokesman said.
