CHISINAU, August 25 (Itar-Tass) — Passenger train No. 342 en route from the Moldovan capital Chisinau to Moscow was stopped on the Moldovan-Ukrainian border Saturday morning after an unknown person’s warning by telephone that a bomb had been planted in one of the coaches.
A spokesman for the Moldovan Interior Ministry’s Service for Civil Defense told Itar-Tass the incident occurred near the station of Volochinets.
Police and demolition experts arrived at the station promptly and passengers of four coaches were evacuated.
Early reports indicate that the call on the bomb was made from Ukraine’s territory.
